Circuit Activations Engineer

  • Job Description: Due to the nature of work this role entails, telecommuting is not allowed and will require the employee to report full-time onsite. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:  Responsible for performing circuit activation, upgrades, & deactivations related to DISA Telecommunications Service Orders.  Responsible for the design and delivery of secure voice, video, and data communications networks. Also responsible for the timely updating of related Circuit and configuration management tools such as Mission Assurance Decision Support System (MADSS) and local Circuit Activation Data Base.  Activates, changes, upgrades, deactivates trunks, links, and circuits in accordance with DISA TSOs or regulatory guidance as directed by higher levels of control and submits applicable reports to include delayed service, exception, and in-effect reports.  Performs Test and Acceptance on all trunks, links, circuits, and equipment for which the TCFs are responsible, using assigned parameter codes.  Maintains system diagrams for all links, trunks, circuits, and systems in the TCFs and the servicing facilities.  Ensure equipment, cables, patch bays, or other circuit access points are labeled appropriately.  Coordinates the installation of government circuits with the Defense Information Systems Agency, local users, and associated commercial vendors.  Must have the ability to work independently and on multiple tasks simultaneously, ability to pay attention to details and documentation, strong organizational skills. Key Competencies: Interpersonal Skills Communication skills - verbal and written Problem analysis and problem solving Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently within a Team Concept Ability to multitask in a stressful environment Required Qualifications: TS clearance with SCI eligibility 5+ years related experience. Experience with BICSI installation regulations and standards. Familiarity with DISA circulars DOD 8570.1-M IAT-II, (CompTIA Security+ CE at a minimum) Desired Qualifications: Must be well versed in rules, regulations, and standards prescribed in DISA circulars Solid Customer Support Skills in a high visibility environment Military Circuit Actions experience
