Senior Management Consultant - Washington DC

A key client of ours is seeking a senior management consultant to support Government-wide IT and policy transformation efforts.  This position includes collaborating with senior executive leadership from the White House and Cabinet Level Agencies to drive business optimization, develop supporting policy, and address current technology challenges.  This high-profile position offers unparalleled exposure to federal initiatives and requires a dedicated individual who is passionate about making a positive impact on Government. Location is between Foggy Bottom and the White House.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead team of individuals in supporting high-profile government councils, sub-groups, executive committees, communities of practice, working groups and task forces
  • Support Federal-wide efforts to assess IT related challenges and develop mitigation strategies
  • Review Federal-wide cybersecurity policies, procedures, and programs through detailed analyses and work with relevant leadership to close gaps
  • Support government-wide efforts to assess agency IT investments, portfolio and project management, identifying risks and weaknesses, and developing and implementing corrective actions
  • Support development of government-wide IT policies
  • Work with Government-wide CIO’s to establish a cross-pollination of best practices amongst agencies
  • Experience with the GSA a plus

Required Qualifications:

  • Lead team of individuals in supporting high-profile government councils, sub-groups, executive 10+ years of relevant senior management consulting experience in a federal setting
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Familiarity with the following:
      • Familiarity with relevant Federal IT laws, regulations, policies, and initiatives, including but not limited to Federal IT Acquisition Reform Act and accompanying OMB Guidance; OMB circulars related to IT (including A130, A11, etc.); the Privacy Act; Clinger-Cohen; Data Center Consolidation Initiative; Open Data Executive Order and accompanying OMB Guidance.
      • Familiarity with relevant regulations, policies, and initiatives, including but not limited to Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), Federal Information Security Modernization Act of 2014, and Cybersecurity Strategy Implementation Plan (CSIP) for Federal Civilian agencies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Able to communicate effectively and confidently with end users, technologists, team members and executive management
  • Excellent presentation skills, and ability to develop presentations for all levels of stakeholders
  • Strong ability to plan and delegate work to achieve task goals
  • Possess a basic understanding and experience of governance principles and processes
  • Ability to analyze project requirements and make appropriate recommendations
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to support multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in a fast pace environment
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust level clearance
  • Experience identifying and cultivating organic growth opportunities
  • Support Federal-wide efforts to assess FISMA related challenges and develop mitigation strategies
  • Review Federal-wide cybersecurity policies, procedures, and programs through detailed analyses and work with relevant leadership to close gaps
  • Support government-wide efforts to assess agency IT investments, portfolio and project management, identifying risks and weaknesses, and developing and implementing corrective actions
  • Support development of government-wide IT policies
  • Work with Government-wide CIO’s to establish a cross-pollination of best practices amongst agencies

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certified Scrum Master and/or ITIL certified
  • Business process documentation skills
  • Experience with IT governance lifecycle
  • Experience with MS Project
  • Experience with Google Suite
  • Experience with MS Project, SmartSheet, Trello and other Government-wide approved project management tools
