Project Manager
Kennedy Space Center, Florida
Position provides technical and programmatic support to the Ground Systems Development and Operations (GSDO)
Program in an effort to assist in accomplishing NASA-managed milestones and deliverables toward achieving human spaceflight and human rating certification. The position provides senior level support to the GSDO Project Management (PM) office. This PM support must be experienced with the Kennedy Space Center (KSC) organization and mission. The senior level support must be knowledgeable to engage the PM division chief on recent technical challenges and be able to offer solid solutions. The senior level support must be able to represent the PM division chief at numerous Boards, Working Groups, and meetings The positoin requires a Subject Matter Expert with the requisite skills necessary to accomplish the below tasks:
Provide solid expertise and drive to take on challenging tasks, working independently to arrive at an acceptable outcome approved by the PM division chief. The SME will work directly with the PM division chief to address his most pressing issues.
Provide a thorough review of proposed concepts, designs, and analysis for GSDO Projects. Assess the proposals and offer constructive criticism in an effort to improve the final product. The SME will provide support for the current development of the EM-1 architecture and provide planning support for the EM-2 development.
Provide subject matter expertise in cost, schedule, risk, and requirements execution for multiple GSDO projects. The SME must be able to analyze projects to determine their risk and offer mitigation steps to overcome risk.
Work closely with many NASA offices sharing guidance from the GSDO PM division chief and developing a cohesive team environment for solving challenges.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 20-years of experience in Program/Project Management, aerospace or systems engineering. Relevant experience should include interactions with NASA, and/or commercial launch operations, launch vehicles and/or spacecraft systems.
  •  Must have a BS in STEM; MS and PhD preferred 
  •  Understanding of the KSC senior organization and experience working with the leadership 
  •  Must have experience with the GSDO architecture and development activities 
  • Candidate must possess excellent written, oral, and presentation skills, and be proficient in MS office products
  Desired Skill/Abilities/Certifications
Excellent customer relations and teamwork skills, technical problem solving and analytical skills. Working knowledge of the Government PPBE process is desired.

Bachelors in Engineering/Program Management
