A key client of ours is seeking a Program Manager / SME familiar with Kennedy Space Center (KSC), NASA and Ground Systems Development and Operations (GSDO).



Description:
Serves as the Contractor's primary contract manager and shall be the contractors authorized interface with the Government contracting officer, the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR), government management personnel and customer agency representative. Responsible for formulating and enforcing work standards, assigning contractor schedules, reviewing work discrepancies, supervising contractor personnel and communicating policies, purposes and goals of the organization to subordinates. Responsible for overall contract performance.
Provides leadership to motivate a highly technical team (>130 staff) to support GSDO and their challenging mission of providing a completely verified/validated and operationally certified ground infrastructure to support the launch of the Space Launch System/Orion Spacecraft for the Exploration Missions under very tight schedule constraints.
Responsible for maintaining the schedule, financial, risk, configuration management, project management, systems engineering and integration, operations planning and test management, and logistics support to the Program Office.
Provides intimate knowledge in contract management, financial management, human resources, customer relations, and business development.  Responsible for fostering a teaming environment to work well with the NASA customer and ensure cohesion of a diverse team of experts working under tight schedule constraints and working challenging interdependency deliveries with the Program Offices.
 
Required Skills and Experience
  • A minimum of 15-years of experience in engineering or technical field and a minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Program Manager.  Relevant experience should include interactions with NASA, and/or commercial launch operations, launch vehicles and/or spacecraft systems.
  • Must have a BS in STEM; MS preferred
  • Must have experience with the GSDO architecture and development activities
  • Candidate must possess excellent written, oral, and presentation skills, and be proficient in MS office products
  • Practice Innovation Management.  Management of Innovation comprises three things: - linking of engineering, - science & - management disciplines to plan, develop & implement technological capabilities to shape & accomplish the strategic & operational objectives of the organization.
 
 
Desired Skills/Abilities
 
  • Excellent customer relations and teamwork skills, technical problem solving and analytical skills. Working knowledge of the Government PPBE process is desired.
  • Understanding of the KSC senior organization and experience working with the leadership

Education
 
Bachelors degree in Engineering and/or Program Management.  Masters’ preferred.
