Systems Administrator - Windows & Red Hat Linux

A key client of ours has a need for a mid-level Systems Administrator.
Must have experience with Unix AND Windows and salary is 80-110k range.
This is a full time position as a W2 employee (no 3rd parties or 1099s).
Candidate must be a US Citizen
This position may need to eventually have a clearance and we can hold up to a Top Secret clearance.
We are looking for a Systems Administrator who is skilled in Linux (Red Hat preferred), virtualized environments (VMware), the Windows Operating Systems (Win2008/2012, Windows 7), and have knowledge of network and firewall configurations, etc.  You should have experience in software/hardware troubleshooting and testing.  You must also have 3+ years of work experience in a combination of the skill areas.

We are looking for someone with strong communication skills, both oral and written, English language skills, and knowledge of software engineering concepts.  Excellent people skills are a must due to being on the client site full time.
Also, we need someone who will be able to work as part of a team but also must be able to function independently, have the ability to concurrently handle multiple tasks, consistently meet established deadlines, and be able to work in a high-pressure environment.


In this role, you will support systems and subsystems, technical planning, and systems integration and testing for major information technology imaging projects. You will use your broad experience supporting Linux and Windows system platforms, software, and architectures. You will interface with both internal and external customers.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge and experience administering and supporting Linux-based platforms (Red Hat preferred)
  • Experience supporting Windows 2008/2012 platforms including Active Directory Services
  • Strong scripting capabilities using Shell and Perl, or Python
  • Database installation, administration, and query capabilities, focusing on SQL Server or MySQL database environments
  • Experience working in virtualized environments such as VMWare
  • Solid knowledge of networking concepts, and network, switch, and firewall configurations
  • Must be able and willing to work in an environment that requires Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Must be a US Citizen

Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced Windows 2008/2012 knowledge and experience including Group Policy
  • Some advanced development/programming experience/ability is a plus, specifically using Python, Perl, C# or similar
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related training
