Would you like to guide a large DOD cloud effort from infancy through operational deployment?
We are looking for a very highly qualified candidate with current, broad technical skills surrounding cloud technologies and approaches, with the ability to serve in a technical leadership capacity in a Department of Defense wide effort.
Your next position could be at the intersection between Information Technology (IT) System Engineering, IT infrastructure architect, and IT life cycle management!
What You Will Be Doing
You will provide infrastructure engineering support for cloud migration and program office stand-up activities.
  • Provide technical subject matter expertise on infrastructure engineering with an emphasis on modern cloud infrastructure and platform services.
  • Support development of technical requirements.
  • Assist in the review and analysis of market research materials, document that analysis, and make recommendations on how that analysis should inform technical inputs into all documentation.
  • Review, draft, and update the technical portions of the acquisition and contracting documents, and provide technical services to support the preparation of business cases, analysis of alternatives, program office estimates, cost analysis requirements documentation, and cost estimating.
  • Draft, edit, and consolidate briefings and other informational documents with an emphasis on accuracy, quality, and timeliness. Present technical information in a concise manner that can be understood by non-engineers and gives decision-makers the context and key points necessary to make necessary decisions.
  • Prepare white papers and informational memoranda on technical areas of interest, such as tactical edge architecture, service integration, etc. Present research findings in a concise manner that can be understood by non-engineers and gives decision-makers the context and key points necessary to make necessary decisions.
  • Support analysis and preparatory activities for cloud migrations including the documentation of those activities. Support execution of migrations.
 
What You Will Need For This Position
  • Must be a US Citizen, hold a current DoD Secret Clearance, and have the ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret Clearance.
  • 15+ years related experience.
  • Deep comprehension of the state of the art in cloud technologies and their application.
  • Powerful analytical and problem-solving skills – including the ability to develop solutions in new and creative ways.
  • Ability to combine knowledge and expertise from diverse areas in new/unique ways to solve problems.
  • Strong ability to lead disparate teams from different groups to form consensus.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to brief senior executives with little notice.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced/dynamic environment.
  • Ability to function in an action officer type role when needed.
  • Comfortable and proficient in meeting with senior government executive customers and translating Department-wide goals into actionable requirements.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required in a relevant field. Master’s Degree in a relevant field preferred.
