• Facilities Electrical Support
• Repair or replace wiring for up to 480 Volt building support service, equipment, or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools. Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
• Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring or equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
• Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes and or National Electrical Codes (NEC).
• Assembly, installation, testing, or maintenance of electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools.
• Advise Government on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous. Place conduit, pipes, or tubing, inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
• Provide preliminary sketches or cost estimates for materials or services.
• Assist SWRMC Facilities Department in installing and repairing wiring, fixtures, and equipment in shipyard facilities. Supply electrician with materials and tools using hand trucks, or by carrying material.
• Thread conduit ends, using pipe threaded, and connect couplings and conduit fittings, using wrench. Measure and cut pipe conduit to specified length, using steel tape and hacksaw.
• Fabricate conduit support brackets from strap iron strips, using hacksaw, shaping dies, hammer, and punch.
• Secure brackets to bulkheads with screws and bolts and pull wires through conduit leading to connection boxes, switch panels, and other terminals.
• Strip insulation from wire ends, using wire stripping pliers.
• Monitor inventory of Government’s local spare parts list.
• Schedule tool truck for support of minor Fleet maintenance.
• Use Word, Excel and maintenance management software to effectively communicate with Government leads.
• Keep accurate inventory of tools checked out to the Fleet.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• High School Diploma or Degree in Engineering or Electronics
• Prior military and marine experience a plus
• Proficient in written and verbal communications
• Current Security Clearance a plus
• Must be able to troubleshoot 480 Volt 3 Phase circuits up to 400 Amps.
• Must be familiar with Honeywell Controls and Burner assemblies
• Must have California State Electrician Journeyman certification
