Support the US Army’s Humanitarian Demining Research and Development Program at Ft. Belvoir as a Mechanical Technician. Support the design, construction, systems integration, test, and international deployment of mechanical landmine clearance systems. Have experience with running, repairing, and maintaining heavy construction and agricultural equipment. Provide diagnoses of failures on complex mobile systems such as diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Make necessary repairs and modifications of these systems in shop and field environments. Train global partner operators on the systems. Support test activities at field test sites both domestic and overseas. Record and analyze test and operations data to produce technical reports of the demining systems. Travel worldwide in support these demining systems both for repair and training. Likely travel each year is a minimum of three to four international trips of 2-3 weeks each. Applicant must have or be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
